* 20/$10 sale- Do I have to buy 20 items?

20-$10
Juanita asked a great question, so I'm going to answer it in a post because I know it's a common question and hopefully this will help a few others also.

The question: On a sale that says 20/$10 or $10/10 do I have to buy 20 or 10 of that same item to get the price?  Do I have to mix & match with other like priced item to get that price?  Can I buy a smaller amount?

The answer: No.  You do not have to buy 20 or 10 of that item.  It's a way that advertisers list the price because they WANT you to buy 20 or 10 of that product, but you don't HAVE to.  Any time that a certain number is required for you to get that price, the ad and the shelf tag should state that.  So feel free to buy as few or as many of those items that you want!

I went shopping at TOP Food today (click here to see ad prices)  and only bought 2 cans of tuna and 4 cans of beans, even though they were advertised as 20/$10.  And I only paid $.50 per can.  Hope this helps with current and future shopping trips!

Thanks for asking such a great question Juanita!

  1. thank you for the help:)IN THIS MATTER
SO I went to TOP FOODS today and walked out with $37.89 groceries for ONLY $18.46
& @ SAFEWAY I spent $98.69 and my final cost was ONLY $58.23 out the door :)
now that’s some amazing savings & I thank YOU for almost all of my deal finds :) thanks Grays Harbor Deals :)

  2. Way to go Juanita! I am thinking of one more way to save, and that is you and I going in one car together to shop!

  3. Printing all these coupons takes a drain on the ink cartrage. When I “clip” coupons and it sends it to the printer, it always prints in color. It does not give me the properties button in order to slect print in grayscale only. Is there a way to remedy that?

    • I don’t think there is Rachel, at least not that I know about. I’ll let you know if I find anything!
