Can I use coupons on clearance items?

Can I use coupons on clearance items?  ABSOLUTELY! 

This is a super fantastic way to save some extra money.  Putting items on clearance is basically just the store putting them on sale, for an even BETTER price.  And we know that the best way to get the most with coupons is to pair them up with a sale- clearance is one of the best sales out there! 

The above picture shows a couple of great deals I got at Safeay pairing clearance and coupons:

5 Milo's Kitchen dog treats regularly priced $3.49 = $17.45
- 50% off clearance for each item taking $8.75 off
- (5) $1.50/1 coupons from 6/26 Red Plum insert taking another $7.50 off
- $1.00 store eCoupon that I loaded a million years ago and forgot about
Final price = 5/$.20 (that's $.04 each!)

4 Temptations cat treats regularly prices $1.99 = $7.96
- 50% off clearance for each item taking $4.00 off
- (2) $1/2 coupons from 7/24 Red Plum insert
Final price = 4/$1.96 (just $.49 each)

So overall I got 9 packages of pet treats for $2.16 which averages out to $.24 per package- definitely stock up prices!
