I love to read.  As a kid I read all the time.  In fact I often stayed up WAY beyond my bedtime with a flashlight under the covers just to finish a book.  So when we started doing the Pizza Hut “Book It” program in school, I was thrilled to be rewarded to read books!  I had the old school button with the stars on it.  I loved that thing.

Since we had a large family, there was no way my parents could afford to take all of us to Pizza Hut, just so we could get our free pizza.  So I remember my mom letting me and 2 of my younger brothers “go by ourselves” (she really waited in the parking lot for us or played in a nearby park with a couple of our other younger siblings), we felt so grown up.  I know we used to leave a tip for our server, but I have no idea if we ever left enough.  Now that I’ve had my time working in food service, I hope so.  And if not, I hope the server knows it wasn’t anything personal, we were just clueless kids. 

Anyway- that long ramble is to say this: Book It! is available to homeschool families as well! Here’s how to get started:

I don’t homeschool my kids, but I was homeschooled for a couple years as a kid and I think this is so great that homeschooling families can be part of this great program too!  Enjoy!
