I went over to Jay’s this afternoon and found a few great deals I figured I would share! Prices can change quickly depending on what produce arrives, so head over and get it quick if you want it! This is BY FAR my favorite place to buy produce in town!

My friend, Amber stopped me the other night at a church activity just to let me know that Jay’s had Pink Lady apples on sale for $.59/lb! I normally see other types of apples around that price this time of year, but RARELY have I seen Pink Lady variety for that cheap! I was pretty excited as today is my husband’s birthday and usually he wants apple pie instead of cake, so I popped in over at Jay’s yesterday to pick some up as well as a few other things. And it turns out my husband wants cinnamon rolls this year . . . LOL. Good thing my family likes apples!
Paid $13.20 for everything in the photo
Here’s some of what I got and additional prices I noticed:
Most apples (including Pink Lady, Fuji, Organic Fuji, & Gala): $.59/lb
Local Celery: $1.25 ea (did you see that thing in my photo- it’s ginormous!!)
Bananas: $.58/lb
Yellow Onions: $.32/lb
Roma Tomatoes: $.98/lb
Cantaloupe: $.49/lb
I’m sure there were more deals, but I was just making a super fast trip to get apples and I only had a few minutes in between running kids to dance classes! Go check them out and see what deals you can find!

I popped in at Jay’s today to grab some tomatoes as I have cilantro to use up and I’ve been craving homemade salsa! Here’s a few of the deals I scored there today:
Bartlett Pears: $.39/lb (or $9.99 for a case)- some of these were bruised or scared, but we still got a nice bag of them
Romaine Lettuce: $.79
Tomatoes on the Vine: $.88/lb
Bananas: $.48/lb
Pineapple: 2/$4
Small container of various red, orange & yellow sweet peppers: $.99
Grapes: $.99/lb
They were BUSY and had some amazingly HUGE pumpkins there! This is by far my favorite place to buy produce! So if you haven’t been there yet, I HIGHLY recommend it!

I try to get over to Jay’s once a week or sometimes every other week if we have plenty of produce, so my posts about them are sometimes very irregular. But I stopped by yesterday and I’ve put a few of the great prices I noticed below. We weren’t there long, so it’s a bit of a short list for now.
Strawberries, 1lb: 4/$5 (I heard on NPR that there are lots of early strawberry crops, so we should see lots of good prices of strawberries around right now!)
Bananas: $.39/lb (these were low because some were quite ripe or bruised a little)
Apples: $.79/lb most varieties. I did find some 5lb bags of smaller Ambrosia apples for $2.99.
Romaine Lettuce: $.99
Iceburg Lettuce: $.68
10-lb bag potatoes: $.98 (I think)
Navel Oranges: $.49/lb
